Meet Our Honorees:

Christine Cordey Salon – Owner Christine Cordey

With over 33 years in the hairstyling industry, Christine Locurto is a third-generation hairstylist whose passion for beauty and creativity runs deep in her family. From a young age, she was drawn to the art of hairstyling, inspired by the ability to form meaningful relationships with guests while using her creativity to make people feel confident and beautiful.

Christine’s journey as a salon owner began with a vision—one that extended beyond hairstyling and into the realm of connection, empowerment, and excellence. After years of refining her craft, she founded Christine Cordey Salon, a space where guests feel truly valued and heard. Her salon is more than just a business; it’s a reflection of her dedication to uplifting others, whether through mentoring young stylists, fostering a welcoming environment, or giving back to the community.

Her commitment to excellence has earned her recognition, including being named Hudson Valley’s Best Stylist in 2023. But for Christine, success isn’t just about awards—it’s about the relationships she builds and the impact she makes. Her salon stands out not only for its top-tier services but for the personal touch and care that every guest experiences.

Beyond her salon doors, Christine is deeply involved in the community. She actively supports The Nyack Center, the Center for Safety and Change, and leads “12 Acts of Kindness for the Holidays,” reinforcing her belief in using her platform to make a difference.

Looking ahead, Christine is passionate about empowering the next generation of hairstylists, creating opportunities for growth, leadership, and success. She is committed to mentoring others and leaving a lasting mark on the beauty industry by fostering an environment where stylists can thrive and guests can experience the best in hair artistry.

Through her talent, dedication, and heart for her community, Christine Locurto has not only built a successful salon—she has built a legacy of beauty, confidence, and empowerment

River Court on Main, New City, NY – Owners Breda Lyons & Catherine Levins

Breda Lyons and Catherine Levins are the heart and soul behind River Court on Main in New City, NY—a local gem where authentic Irish hospitality meets a deeply rooted commitment to community. Originally from Ireland, Breda and Catherine have been calling Rockland County home since 1997 and 2012, respectively. Over the past seven years, their entrepreneurial vision and compassion have turned River Court into more than just a restaurant—it’s become a place of warmth, welcome, and purpose.

Driven by strong work ethics and an unwavering belief in helping others, Breda and Catherine have quietly, but powerfully, supported countless individuals and causes in Rockland County. Their generous support of Center for Safety & Change is just one reflection of their deep commitment to ending domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Through initiatives like their Saint Patrick’s Day t-shirt fundraiser and participation in “Dine Out for Change,” Breda and Catherine have used their business as a platform to raise awareness, mobilize support, and directly fund the Center’s vital services.

What makes their support so extraordinary is not just the funds raised, but the heart behind their efforts. On one of the busiest days of the year, they personally visited every table at River Court, sharing the mission of the Center with their customers—not for recognition, but to educate, engage, and inspire action.

Beyond their work with Center for Safety & Change, Breda and Catherine give generously to a wide range of local causes—from hosting toy and clothing drives for children impacted by domestic violence, to organizing donations to local soup kitchens, and sponsoring annual events such as a golf outing that benefits both Hospice and additional local charities. They are consistent supporters of area schools and nonprofits, always looking for ways to give back.

Breda and Catherine are not interested in accolades—they’ll tell you “every little bit helps” and give all the credit to the community. But those who know them, or simply stop in for a meal at River Court, understand the quiet leadership and compassion they embody. Their impact is lasting, their generosity unmatched, and their commitment to a safer, kinder community is an inspiration to us all.
